Focus on… IDEAS International
Established in 1981 in Australia, IDEAS International is a publicly traded company on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:IDE). The company has offices in Australia, the United Kingdom and the USA.
Company analysts produce comparative intelligence about enterprise infrastructure, specifically focusing on:
Servers: Enterprise servers, industry-standard servers and blades;
Services: IT infrastructure support services;
Storage: Enterprise storage solutions featuring hardware and software; and
System Software: Operating systems, system management, and virtualization.
For example, intelligence produced by the analysts helps end users make informed decisions when selecting an IT vendor, planning a data centre consolidation, or assessing the carbon footprint of a company’s IT infrastructure.
Many technology vendors are US headquartered. It is clear to an observer that the industry analyst community has sprung up on the back of this in that many of the more established and larger analyst companies are US headquartered, for example, Forrester, Frost & Sullivan, Gartner and IDC. Thus it is unusual for an analyst company to have sprung out of Australia and penetrate into other national markets, such as the UK and the USA.
