Public speaking: Inspiring an audience

At some point in your life you may be required to deliver an uplifting or inspirational talk. A speech that challenges people to embrace noble motives or achieve their highest potential.

The purpose of this training course is to build on the 'Public speaking: You can do it' training course by selecting a subject that has deep meaning for you and your audience, then organise the thoughts and beliefs you and the audience share into a dynamic, inspirational speech.

Conducted within a supportive and encouraging environment, this one-day course will focus on the following:

  • To construct a speech that inspires an audience
  • To understand the mood and feelings of your audience on a particular occasion
  • To put those feelings into words and inspire the audience, using all the techniques you have learned so far
  • To control feelings and emotions
  • Evaluating others

  • Impromptu speaking

Delegates will benefit from tuition from a facilitator who is a member of Toastmasters International, a global organisation devoted to the art of public speaking. The facilitator is an Advanced Communicator and was runner up in the UK & Ireland Public Speaking Championships 2006. At the end of the session, each delegate will be provided with a comprehensive booklet that delves deeper into the art of communication and speaking in public.

Important note: This session is open only to those delegates who have attended the 'Public speaking: You can do it' training course.

Benefits for delegates:

  • Better representation of an individual and an organisation

  • Better internal and external communication

  • Improved ability to inspire an audience of 1 or many - a critical skill in the public, private and voluntary arena

  • Improved 1:many and 1:1 communication skills

  • Increased motivation

  • Increased confidence
