Analyst Relations' Training

Public speaking to the Industry Analyst Community

One day intensive training course at the Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5ED, United Kingdom on Thursday 30th September 2010

Public speaking is an art form. As is communicating with the industry analyst community. Put the two together and there is a compelling need to get it right. Get it right, and you and your organisation will be reflected in a professional light. Get it wrong, and you and your organisation will lack professionalism in front of the objective eyes of analysts . And the time and money devoted to developing an Analyst Relations' program will have been shamefully wasted.

The purpose of the ‘Public speaking to the industry analyst community’ training course is to hone the communication skills of spokespeople responsible for speaking to industry analysts. The skills learned during the training session can then be successfully utilised when speaking to a room full of analysts, or one to one (either face to face, or via webcasts or teleconferences).

Conducted within a supportive and encouraging environment, this unique one-day training course will focus on:

  • What is an industry analyst?
  • Setting the scene: The competitive arena for analyst companies
  • Communicating the right message to the right company and analyst
  • Presenting oneself before an audience
  • Speaking before an audience
  • Exploring the use of vocal variety
  • Selecting the right words to communicate
  • Organising thoughts into a logical sequence
  • Learning the value of gestures and body movements
  • Learning the value of props
  • Impromptu speaking
  • Being a Chairperson / Toastmaster / Master of Ceremonies
  • Questions and Answers

Delegates will benefit from tuition from a facilitator who is an ex-analyst (working for key analyst companies, the Hewson Group and IDC) and is also a member of Toastmasters International, a global not-for-profit organisation devoted to the art of public speaking (and so is an Advanced Communicator; a Past President of one of London’s oldest Public Speaking clubs; and was runner up in the UK & Ireland Public Speaking Championships 2006).

Benefits of the training include:

  • Better representation of an organisation and an individual
  • Better understanding of the industry analyst community
  • Better 1:Many and 1:1 communication skills
  • Better execution of work

Number of delegates: The group is very small to maximise practise time for delegates.
